The capital subscribed for the incorporation of these companies also experienced an annual decrease of 12.4%, while the average capital subscribed decreased by 5.6%. These data point to possible caution among entrepreneurs in starting new companies, possibly influenced by economic and regulatory conditions.
As for capital increases, 2,190 companies carried out this process in May, representing a reduction of 20.2% with respect to the same month of the previous year. Despite the decrease in the number of capital increases, the capital subscribed in these operations grew slightly by 0.1%.
On the other hand, the number of dissolved companies showed a notable decrease of 20.1% in annual terms. Of the total, 85.1% were dissolved voluntarily, possibly indicating a more prudent management of companies in the face of adverse conditions.
In regional terms, the Principality of Asturias, Galicia and Extremadura led the way in annual increases in the creation of mercantile companies, highlighting a renewed entrepreneurial dynamism in these areas. In contrast, Andalusia, the Basque Country and La Rioja experienced the largest declines in the creation of new companies, possibly reflecting specific challenges in their respective economic environments.
These data provide a clear perspective on current trends in the Spanish business fabric, underscoring the importance of policies to support entrepreneurship and measures that foster a favorable environment for the creation and expansion of companies.
Detailed analysis of these indicators is essential to better understand economic and business dynamics, thus informing strategic decisions at both the government and corporate levels to promote sustainable economic growth and business prosperity in Spain.
